Starting on Monday the 14th January 2019, the Gold Coast City Council has advised that the roundabout on Days Road & Old Coach Road is being converted into an intersection with traffic lights. It is expected that the new intersection will be completed by June 2019. An additional lane is being added at each approach to the intersection to improve the flow of traffic.
With many surrounding schools and parks, the aim of converting this roundabout into an intersection is to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists. This will be achieved by adding signalised crossings, on-road bike lanes and accessible ramps.
