Northern Gold Coast Development: Plans for huge Pacific City

A huge city on the northern Gold Coast, with room for 60,000 dwellings is planned by 71 Norwell land owners. At least 217 properties would form the initial collective sale. However, 71 additional lots could be added.

Peter Catanzariti from Ray White Upper Coomera believes that this plan would be a fantastic addition to our local area, with more buying opportunity for our local residents.

Under the plan, the Pacific City would feature:

  • A significant city centre and more employment opportunities, as well as sustainable tourism and ecological outcomes
  • The potential for up to 60,000 dwellings
  • The master plan proposes six precincts: employment, north, central, south, transit-oriented and flood/vegetation
  • The planned Coomera Connecter would run through the Pacific City, providing a major transport link. The Ormeau train station and M1 would also be nearby (1km and 4km respectively).

“In addition to the residential dwellings that are part of this plan, the Pacific City will also create jobs for our local community. It will be a massive asset to our area and we hope that the plan will be approved soon” says Peter Catanzariti.

The area of sugarcane land is just north of Coomera and is bordered by the M1 and Moreton Bay.

The biggest challenged faced by the project is seeking approval by all three levels of government. The first major hurdle will be rezoning the cane fields.

The sugarcane land, which is 10 times the size of Surfers Paradise is estimated to fetch well over $1 billion dollars.
