Northern Development Update

By Chelsea Gates

Our community in 4209 continues to grow and thrive with a number of new projects and major announcements happening over Coomera, Pimpama and Upper Coomera in the last few months.

Upper Coomera

The Home Consortium, which will be located in the former Masters building on Days Road & Old Coach Road, Upper Coomera has announced the tenants which will be occupying the centre. Key retailers include Spotlight, Supercheap Auto, EMF Performance Centre, Choice Discount Store and Pet Barn. In addition to these major retailers, the centre will also include a café. The building is currently undergoing renovations to transform it into a Home Consortium centre. It Is expected that the conversion will be complete in June or July 2018.

Coomera

Developments are also continuing to progress in Coomera, with the first doors of the Coomera Town Centre expecting to be open before Christmas 2018. In addition to this, a property developer by the name of Phil Usher is seeking approval from the city council to develop a Coomera Tower which would be expected to include 235 townhouses of up to three levels and 159 apartments in buildings with up to seven floors. The Coomera tower would be in prime position, situated right next to the Coomera Train Station and the Coomera Town Centre. Usher is currently seeking a buyer to purchase it. Peter Catanzariti from Ray White Upper Coomera believes that this development will contribute even more to the already booming 4209 market.

Pimpama

Developments are also underway in Pimpama, with Mirvac announcing that they plan to develop and sports & recreation precinct in the sought-after estate of Gainsborough Greens. With the rapid growth of Pimpama, it has been noticed that there are very few sports fields and parks. The $8.5 million facility will be 15 hectares in size and is expected to be fully-operational by mid-year (2018). Features will include two full size AFL sports fields, a playground, picnic area and sporting amenity.
