Plans for the construction of a state-of-the-art parkland and recreation area on the northern Gold Coast are underway, and the local community and real estate market are ready to reap the benefits.
The new Coomera Adventure Parkland is set to be built on Kerkin Road South; smack-bang in the middle of Coomera and Pimpama, it will be the biggest recreational space the northern Gold Coast has seen. Division 4 Gold Coast councillor, Cameron Caldwell, said the multi-million-dollar, 1.8-hectare space has been a long time coming, and is a means to addressing the massive population growth and boom on the northern Gold Coast
‘We’ve seen massive growth, now what we need to see is things like this parkland being delivered, because that’s what really gives value to living on the Gold Coast.’
Caldwell said that during the design phase, council consulted with members of the public to ensure that the finished parkland provided benefits to the whole community. The project aims to deliver a space that includes infrastructure to support longer stays in the park and is expected to have an adventure-style theme to ensure it caters for older kids.
Plans so far indicate that the park will include the following;
• Open space parklands
• Walking trails and pathways
• Junior mountain bike trails/BMX tracks
• A skatepark
• High quality shaded adventure play areas
• Shaded barbecue and picnic facilities
• Park furniture
• Car parking
• Public amenities, and
• Scenic landscaping
The Gold Coast’s Deputy Mayor, Donna Gates, believes that the park will provide a boost for the area, and a new local hot spot for northern Gold Coasters seeking adventure, recreation, relaxation, and connection.
‘In parks, we find a sense of enjoyment, strong community spirit, and wonder in nature.’
The new Coomera Adventure Parkland is expected to be a wonderful addition for the community of the northern Gold Coast and will really place the suburbs of Coomera and Pimpama on the map.
