The American discount chain will open its third Queensland store in Coomera on Friday, June 23. Costco has gained a cult-like following around the world thanks to its vast array of products available for purchase in bulk, and for bargain prices. The new Coomera Costco will be located adjacent to Westfield Coomera and will span over 14,000 square metres with over 700 customer carparks. Upon its completion, it is expected to create up to 300 local jobs.
Northern Gold Coast residents are already excited about stocking up on bulk items such as, giant packets of toilet paper, 32-kilogram blocks of cheese, 6-litre bottles of dishwashing liquid, and cartons of chicken nuggets that probably weigh more than the toddlers that devour them. But it’s not just everyday groceries; while there, shoppers can also stock up on everything from diamond rings and car tyres, to camping gear, hearing-aids, and even budget-friendly coffins.
With the cost-of-living skyrocketing over the past year, budgets have certainly been on the minds of many Australians. With the opening of Costco, northern Gold Coast suburbs can expect a flurry of interest as savvy families flock to the area in the hope of shaving dollars off their grocery and entertainment bills.
